Trees are here

We went to see Bob at Scott's Tree Farm in Andover, CT to pick up a load of our usual Balsam Firs.  They're still starting at just $30 a tree.  This year, I'm excited to have Fraser Firs.  I'm going to try one out in our house this year.  They are said to have the best needle retention, and I usually test it out.  I'm always good about giving a fresh cut before putting up the tree, but somewhere after the first week, start forgetting to water it.  Well, after that tree has gone several hours without water, it seals itself right back up, and even if you try to give it more water (which I usually do), it won't soak it up (the water might evaporate, though).  So keep those trees watered!  I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and is keeping a sane, peaceful and thankful eye toward Christmas and all of the December holidays.
