APRIL 17 OPEN BARN 10am Come tour our barn, hear about Summer Session, have a quick free lesson and make a horse craft. Geared toward kids aged 3-12.
APRIL 29 FARM FRIENDS CLASSES BEGIN. Join us for a 6-week session of farm exploration. Classes for 1&2 year olds and 3-6 year olds.
JUNE 5 SPRING STUDENT HORSE SHOW 10am. Friends, Family and Spectators welcome.
JUNE 12 CELEBRATE GRANBY 10am-1pm Take a mini horseback riding lesson and learn more about horses at Granby's biggest family event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
JUNE 13 HOLCOMB FARM SPRING INTO SUMMER FESTIVAL 12-3pm Come find out all about Maple View Farm. Hear about riding lessons, summer sessions, hay production, chickens, cows and goats.

Farm story time. Parents and their child meet an animal, read a book, and have interactive play during this one hour session.
WEEK 1 APRIL 30 MEET THE ANIMALS -- Join us for an exploration walk as we meet and interact with the different animals on the farm. We will notice what they eat, where they sleep and what they like to do. We will discuss their purpose on the farm.
WEEK 2 MAY 7 SEEDS, SEEDS, SEEDS -- We will discover and examine different seeds and soil, talk about how a see germinates, plant a seed, and discuss what a plant needs to grow.
WEEK 3 MAY 14 BABIES! -- We will talk about baby animals: goats and chicks. We will discuss how they are cared for and at what age they become independent.
WEEK 4 MAY 21 THE KITCHEN GARDEN -- We will plant some seeklings that I have started in our kitchen garden. We will discuss good soil conditions, good situation for the garden, how we are going to get water to the plants, where they can grow plants at their homes.

WEEK 5 JUNE 4 SCARECROW IN THE GARDEN -- We will discuss the need for and create a scarecrow for Maple View’s herb and vegetable garden. In making it, we will get to discuss parts of the body. Kids will get to create their own scarecrows to take home.
WEEK 6 JUNE 11 WHERE DOES FOOD COME FROM? -- We will discuss the origins of the students’ favorite foods including: milk, apples, corn, bread (wheat), chicken. We will make a delicious snack with whole food ingredients.

Learn about Farm animals, where food comes from and growing plants. Each 1 1/2 hr session will include a learning experience, interactive play time, a story and a craft. Drop off or feel free to stay and play with us.

GROUPS
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other organizations are welcome at Maple View Farm. The following is a 2 hour program geared to the Girl Scout Horse Fun and Horse Sense badges and the Boy Scout Horsemanship merit badge. Cost $20 per scout up to 15 scouts (attempts will be made to accommodate more if needed). The program includes a group riding lesson where scouts will learn to groom, tack, walk and trot, and unmounted horsemanship lesson where scouts will learn about the parts of the horse and the parts of the saddle, and a horse craft.
