BOARDING

Maple View Farm is located on Rt. 10, in Granby, CT.  Founded in 1950, the farm consists of over 50 acres of land.  Maple View has a long history and love of horses.  Three generations of Boglis work the farm handing down the knowledge of horse care from generation to generation.   Located adjacent to hundreds of acres of trails in the McLean Game Refuge, Salmon Brook Park, and the rails to trails path, Maple View is an ideal location to start a trail ride, or just ride in the ring.  Full board is only $375 per month.  Horses are turned out daily, and are on full pasture for the summertime.  Please call for additional information or a tour of the barn and facilities.  860-655-2036 or mapleview@cox.net.

BEGINNER HORSEBACK RIDING LESSONS

The riding program at Maple View Farm is geared to beginner riders and strives to develop self-sufficient equestrians who are able to care for, maintain, and ride a horse by providing a broad education which fosters an understanding of various equine disciplines and theories.  

Half-hour private classes meet the objectives of each student in English pleasure riding. One hour group classes are offered to individuals with riding experience.  Evaluation by the instructor is necessary to join a group class.  Classes are held outdoors and are weather dependent, though we will ride through a little bit of rain.  Thunder or lightening will cancel a lesson.  Instructor will call to cancel lessons.  Please touch base if weather is a question.  Students should wear long pants, a boot with a heel, and have their hair pulled back in a low pony tail.  Helmets are provided if you don't have one.

Students at Maple View are invited to practice their skills during Maple View Farm’s Open Ride
$35 FOR 3 HOURS

OPEN RIDE IS UNSUPERVISED.  RIDERS NEED TO BE ABLE TO TACK UP AND RIDE BY THEMSELVES.  PARENTS MUST SUPERVISE KIDS UNDER 18.  SIGN UP AND PAY IN ADVANCE.  CLEAR HORSE ASSIGNMENTS WITH KATE.  ALL RIDING MUST BE DONE IN THE RIDING RINGS.

LEARN TO LEASE
BY APPOINTEMENT
Learn how to:
Handle a horse in the pasture.  Groom, saddle and care for a horse.  Practice basic trail riding safety.  All in preparation for leasing a horse.
